Controller - Financial Services (Public Company) | Remote (East Coast)

A newly public company in the financial services sector is seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead and optimize its accounting operations. This role requires a CPA-certified professional with a strong audit background, deep expertise in full-cycle accounting, and extensive experience as a NetSuite subject matter expert.

As the Controller, you will oversee all accounting functions, ensure compliance with public company reporting standards (SEC, SOX), drive process improvements, and support financial decision-making. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, ensuring financial accuracy, and implementing best practices for scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end close, consolidations, financial reporting, and internal controls

Oversee SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and audit processes

Optimize and enhance NetSuite ERP functionalities, ensuring efficient financial operations
*

Work cross-functionally with FP&A, tax, and executive leadership to support strategic financial initiatives
*

Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
*

Manage external audits, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
