Senior Accountant Job Description
Location: Mineola, NY
$90,000 -$120,000 base salary
A well-established, family-owned distribution company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team and work directly with the President and CFO. This is a full-time, on-premise position with the potential for hybrid flexibility in the future.
The company utilizes NetSuite as their ERP. Given our distribution model, optimizing working capital, managing inventory, projecting cash flows (AR & AP), and running an efficient operation are critical to our success.
Role Overview
The Senior Accountant will gain comprehensive financial insight into the business while developing into a senior leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
* Manage and optimize inventory valuation, turns, and financial forecasting.
* Track back-end rebates and calculate gross profits.
* Lead and mentor a team of three accounting professionals.
* Work closely with the President and CFO on strategic financial initiatives.
* Develop and refine cash flow projections, including AR and AP management.
* Collaborate with the purchasing and sales teams to support financial decision-making.
Qualifications & Requirements
* 3+ years of NetSuite experience in an accounting or finance capacity.
* Industry experience in distribution, manufacturing, or retail.
* Strong understanding of inventory valuation, management, and turns.
* Experience with back-end rebates and gross profit calculations.
