Attraction and retention
The partner space is a unique one within the NetSuite ecosystem, which makes the sentiments of those working within it an important insight for everyone across the community. For partners, knowing what drives people to work for them provides valuable information on how to attract talent, as well as retain it.
And for those outside the partner ecosystem but looking to attract professionals from beyond the usual talent pools, it’s interesting reading as they look to potentially adapt their own hiring strategy over the next 12 months.
Looking beyond
Almost two-thirds (62%) of end user employees that responded to the survey would consider working for an NetSuite partner. Factors cited as most likely to attract end user employees to a role with a partner include:
We also asked the 21% of respondents who would not work for a partner why they wouldn’t make the move, with reasons including:
I'm happy in my current role | 58% |
I enjoy solving problems from within the business | 42% |
I'm not interested in working for a partner | 27% |
I don't want to travel for work | 27% |
I prefer working on one big project | 12% |
I've worked for a partner previously, but I prefer the end user environment | 8% |
I consider working for a partner to be stressful | 8% |
I don't enjoy the increased interaction with clients | 8% |
Conclusion
The two-thirds of professionals that would be prepared to make the switch from NetSuite end user employers to NetSuite partners is great news for those organizations looking to hire in the next 12 months. The higher earning potential, opportunity to expand on existing NetSuite skills and knowledge, plus the different challenges available come out on top as the reasons why candidates are looking at the partner ecosystem for their next career move.
While this may be encouraging for those partners who are looking to hire sometime soon, it also serves as useful information for those end users that are desperate to retain the NetSuite talent they have. While salary earnings may be a factor out of your control, there’s a strong likelihood that other elements such as development and progression are things that you can look at in order to keep NetSuite professionals under your roof.
And the good news doesn’t finish there for end users—because addressing the factors that most make people leave, is likely to make you a more attractive prospect to new employees in the future too.
How satisfied are partner employees?
Largely, professionals working for NetSuite partners and ISVs are happy in their roles—71% say they’re satisfied with their job overall.
Similarly, 70% are satisfied with their salary, and only 9% are not.
