Welcome to the latest edition of Anderson Frank’s Careers and Hiring Guide—which you will notice is a huge step forward in the evolution of this report.
Previously distributed at NetSuite events around the globe in print form, we’ve listened to the community’s desire to have a more positive impact on the planet. And so the guide moves completely online for the first time in its seven-year history!
It remains the ultimate resource for career insights, hiring trends, and salaries in the NetSuite ecosystem but exists in an easier-to-browse format that’s also friendlier to the environment. I hope you enjoy reading it.
Once again, our findings were collated through two main channels; self-reported data from an online survey and statistical analysis of vacancies and placements made by Anderson Frank. This information provides a comprehensive snapshot into the global NetSuite ecosystem, giving you the best insights to propel your career and business forward.
So, what have we discovered this year?
An overwhelming 81% of professionals believe certifications make you a more valuable candidate. And with 43% now holding a NetSuite cert—up 14% since our last survey—it would appear that more professionals are investing in their training and development. It’s not just about advancing your skills and knowledge; certs can boost your pay packet too, with those reporting a salary increase post-certification receiving, on average, a substantial 27% increase.
Let’s take a closer look at salaries and benefits. Across the NetSuite community, 65% of professionals are satisfied with their current salary, up from 61% in last year’s survey. But it’s not all about the money. Salaries aside, 92% of permanent employees tell us that workplace benefits are important when deciding whether to accept a job offer. Among our survey respondents, 41% say that a generous amount of time off is the perk most likely to influence their decision to accept a new role, with 35% citing health and medical insurance as the most enticing benefit.
When it comes to finding new talent, hiring managers tell us that it takes, on average, six months to fill their NetSuite vacancies and 33% state that increased competition for candidates is their biggest tech staffing challenge. In fact, 59% of hiring managers across the ecosystem believe an IT skills gap exists across the wider NetSuite community.
Looking at workplace trends, interestingly, 41% of our respondents have been offered full-time remote work in the last 12 months. This indicates that the shift we experienced from office-based to home working during the pandemic has created a lasting legacy.
And honing in specifically on diversity, equality and inclusion, we are seeing encouraging progress on this front, with 63% of employees believing their employer is providing equal pay for equal work and 74% of respondents stating their workplace champions equal rights. Moreover, 71% of professionals tell us their employer promotes racial and ethnic diversity in their workforce; all steps in the right direction for shifting the dial on inclusivity.

This report is based on over 28,000 data points, including self-reported survey information from NetSuite professionals worldwide between March and June 2023.
Respondents span a range of industries, come from diverse personal and professional backgrounds, and cover a mix of professionals and hiring managers.
We’ve validated every survey response using robust statistical analysis and automated data validation rules to be included in the final results. Any data that didn’t pass our validation rules and statistical analysis or was deemed questionable, incomplete, or duplicate was removed so that the results published are meaningful and accurate.
- Not all percentages add up to 100% because some questions have multiple-choice answers.
- Answers are rounded for single-choice questions, so not all responses will total 100%.
- Findings based on a small sample of results (i.e., under 5%) should be taken as indicative only.
